National Skills Academy for Construction: Denne Construction

Denne Construction has developed a training plan identifying the key training which will take place during the life of The Stanhope project in South Ashford. This is a major residential regeneration scheme which has a National Skills Academy regional hub that launched in October 2007. Learning is offered using school curricula, site visits, workshop activities through to work experience, opportunities for apprentices, support for migrant workers and upskilling the existing workforce.

Nicholas Fowler, Business Improvement Manager at Denne Construction, said:

“What the industry needs is support from companies who will provide the work experience and on-site training that are essential to building a truly skilled workforce, and I believe the approach of using National Skills Academies will go a long way to help achieve this.”
