The National Skills Academy for IT is being established by employers to address the development needs of IT professionals in the UK.

The UK’s IT workforce continues to grow as more organisations turn to technology to boost productivity and performance, yet the global sourcing of skills means that much of the growth in the UK is not in traditional IT professional jobs. UK employers increasingly need highly skilled, multidisciplinary technology professionals who understand how business works and can confidently manage projects, systems and people.

IT is a sector of constant change and the people who work in it never stop learning. IT professionals need easier access to high quality, relevant training, delivering what they need, when and where they need it.

The National Skills Academy for IT will:

• Increase investment in IT professional training and development;
• Bring together high quality provision of training and education in the sector;
• Enable IT professionals to find what they need, where and when they need it - and be assured that whatever the Skills Academy offers has been endorsed by employers as valued by the sector;
• Enable IT professionals to have their skills recognised in a way that is meaningful across the sector.
