National Skills Academy for Logistics
The Skills Academy for Logistics will provide a new and vital focus for skills. Operating through a network of licensed hubs the National Skills Academy Logistics will be led by employers and deliver the skills needed by the industry now and in the future.
Recession has hit the industry hard and with increasing pressure to achieve fuel savings and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, we believe that a more skilled workforce across the sector will deliver efficiencies and benefits that will help logistics businesses to meet the UK and global challenges faced at the present time.
The vision of the project team is that the National Skills Academy Logistics will transform the sector by increasing awareness, understanding and investment in skills as the route to the development of a more productive, efficient, safe, inclusive and low carbon UK Logistics sector.
To achieve this vision we are developing an innovative and relevant business plan with input from employers, sector stakeholders and training providers.
