Power sector employers, contractors and manufacturers have committed over £500,000 in cash and in-kind support to the development of the Skills Academy. They have also pledged a further £1 million towards the first three years of operation.
We will require a further financial commitment from employers. Becoming a sponsor will give employers the opportunity to influence the Skills Academy’s business plan and have a say in its future development.
The Skills Academy will be submitting its business plan for ministerial approval by the end of June 2009. Subject to this approval, we aim to begin operations in October 2009.
